House GOP leaders ready to intervene to prevent rail strike:

The House could take legislative action to avert a labor strike among rail workers if unions can't reach a deal before the Dec. 6 deadline, according to Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor R-Va., and House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. "A shutdown of our nation’s railways, which would harm our economy and endanger many American jobs, is unacceptable," the GOP leaders said.
