Officials warn about empty early-retirement promises

The Securities and Exchange Commission is targeting fraudulent schemes and retirement seminars that claim they can help people retire early. The SEC and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority have published a guide called "Early Retirement Seminars 101: Smart Tips for Spotting Retirement Scams" to warn consumers away from offers of double-digit investment returns or the ability to withdraw 7% or more annually from their savings.
