Prefabricated jail building is Ontario's first

Precast concrete modules werer used for the construction of Toronto South Detention Centre, the pioneer prefabricated prison facility in south Etobicoke, Ontario. Each module contains two prison cells, and the modules are stacked into three seven-floor buildings. The project, which is aiming for LEED Silver, has reached 80% completion with a scheduled opening in September next year.
