Report: 80% of providers are expected to adopt EHRs by 2016

A new IDC Health Insights report estimates that EHR usage among health care providers will increase to 80% in five years, up significantly from the less than 25% of providers who reported using EHRs in a 2009 study. The report aims to help practices choose the appropriate vendor by assessing 10 EHR systems from eight prominent companies serving midsize and large practices.
