Sundrop Fuels wants synthetic gas reclassified as a biofuel

Sundrop Fuels, which is planning to develop its first synthetic-gasoline plant in Alexandria, La., is asking the Environmental Protection Agency to designate its product as a biofuel, despite it being partly derived from natural gas. Sundrop Fuels' synthetic gasoline, which is made from biomass and hydrogen taken from natural gas, is ready to use in existing fuel infrastructure, said spokesman Steven Silvers.
