AAA warns drivers about potential engine damage from E15

The Environmental Protection Agency should disallow the sale of a fuel blend of 15% ethanol and 85% gasoline, called E15, because it could damage engines made before 2012, according to AAA. The group said the engines of most vehicles on the road today can handle E10 but that the higher ethanol blend could be corrosive to engines. "There are no corrosive issues with E15. If there's an issue with E15, we're going to know about it and the EPA is going to know about it," said Bob Dinneen, Renewable Fuels Association president and CEO.
