Black Friday shoppers rely heavily on QR codes

Shoppers flocked to scan QR codes on Black Friday, with a 50% rise in scans from the previous year's Black Friday, according to ScanLife. The firm recorded more than a quarter million scans with during the 24-hour period starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time on Thanksgiving Day. "Showrooming is here to stay, but QR codes can give shoppers the confidence they need to shorten the path to purchase," said ScanLife CEO Mike Wehrs.
