Can IT departments do more to embrace mobile technology?

As mobile technology becomes increasingly more popular in and out of the classroom, IT departments at some colleges are struggling to keep up, according to a 2011 study by EDUCAUSE. In many cases IT departments are still unsure how to support the ever-growing field of mobile users, the study found. In addition, some colleges say the investment in mobile applications is too great at this time, and they have decided to watch the market and wait.
