Cisco to buy Cariden as acquisition spree continues

Cisco Systems has announced its third acquisition in a month, saying it will purchase Cariden Tech in a $141 million cash deal. Cariden, a closely held client of Verizon Communications and Deutsche Telekom, makes software to plan, design and engineer networks. Companies such as Cariden could play increasingly important roles in software-defined networking, analysts say.
