Cyber Monday sales hit $1.4 billion, up 16% from 2011

Online commerce on Cyber Monday was up 16.4% year-over-year to $1.47 billion, according to comScore. The Monday after Thanksgiving shopping day is growing in importance, and though it may be only pulling forward sales that might have come later, "the bottom line is it's a huge number. There are lots of superlatives for the day," says Andrew Lipsman, comScore's vice president of industry analysis.
