Winemakers continue packaging revolution

Small plastic bottles are joining screwtops and boxes in the wine industry's push toward convenient, casual packaging. And although data for plastic bottles is unavailable, sales in the category they'd be in -- single-serve bottles, which are mostly glass -- reached $68 million over the past year, up 22% from a year prior, according to ACNielsen. Beringer and Brown-Forman Corp. are both selling plastic bottles.
