Caution urged in use of antidepressant Paxil

A panel of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists says pregnant women and those who plan to become pregnant should not use the antidepressant Paxil because of the risk of birth defects. The opinion was issued nearly a year after the FDA and GlaxoSmithKline reclassified Paxil to reflect studies showing potential risks to the fetus.
