Illinois, Montana lag in release of test scores

NCLB-required testing results for 2006 are overdue in Illinois reportedly because of human and computer errors in the administration of exams, while Montana deliberately set a late deadline to allow extra time for processing its first-ever set of exams for multiple grades. Some critics say the delays should persuade lawmakers to devise other measures besides tests, while others say the real problem is with effects of NCLB itself.
