Opinion: Innovative sewer-repair plan offers many benefits

An innovative plan to repair the sewers in Kansas City would reduce spending on storage tanks and pumping stations, lead to cleaner water and set an example for other U.S. cities. The plan calls for more rain gardens, rain barrels, permeable pavement and water-absorbing vegetation, among other benefits. The city will also look at ways to reduce storm water runoff into sewers.
