Saudi Arabia launches its largest EHR system

Saudi Arabia has launched its largest electronic health record system to reduce patient-data duplication, optimize processes and improve administrative efficiency in 26 hospitals, including all armed forces hospitals, according to Alcantara, the Arabian company that won the contract for the project. Alcantara said it has successfully concluded the first phase of the project and is preparing to begin the second and final phase, which will include systems for nuclear medicine, radiology, radiotherapy and other hospital units.
