Shanghai breaks ground on skyscraper

Construction crews broke ground Saturday on a $2.2 billion building touted as the tallest tower in Shanghai. Once completed in 2014, the government-funded Shanghai Tower will soar to 2,073 feet. "Launching construction at this time will help boost Shanghai's confidence in fighting the financial crisis," said Gu Jianping, manager of city-owned Shanghai Tower Construction & Development Co.
