Businesses get creative, find less expensive ways to show gratitude

Small businesses are finding less expensive perks to hand out to employees and customers in lieu of traditional year-end bonuses, parties and gifts. Executives at one Cleveland company have promised to scrape the snow off their employees' cars once a month this winter, a San Francisco company bartered with clients for giveaways, and a New Jersey publisher is offering free ads to some clients in a special insert.
