Some are calling for improvements in education in the United Arab Emirates, saying that education holds the key to a bright future for the young nation as it transitions from an oil-based economy to one that is knowledge-based. "If the UAE wants young Emiratis to play a viable role in that, they are going to have to push to improve education," said Paul Dyer, a researcher at the Dubai School of Government.
