Ethanol sector awaits favorable decision from EPA on blend limit

The ethanol industry is waiting for a positive outcome from the Environmental Protection Agency on the proposal to lift the 10% "blend wall" on the alternative fuel. The EPA could either grant the proposal, allow a 12% blend limit as an intermediate step or adopt a partial waiver in which the 15% ethanol blend would be allowed only for certain engine types, an industry official said.
