Chesapeake spends $200M to purchase more assets in Eagle Ford

Chesapeake Energy paid Australia's Antares Energy and its partner $200 million to acquire drilling rights on 23,180 Eagle Ford Shale acres. The price per acre was $8,628, Antares said in its website. The value was "near the lower range of recent transactions seen in the play, particularly in the condensate window," said John Freeman, an analyst with Raymond James & Associates.
