Commentary: Congress will create a 2011 tax-filing fiasco

Columnist Jim McTague notes that Congress is dragging its feet on a patch for the alternative minimum tax, meaning millions of Americans will receive their tax refunds later than they should. The tax-filing season might become even more sticky if Congress fails to reach an agreement on whether to extend tax breaks established by former President George W. Bush. McTague writes that debate on the AMT and Bush-era tax cuts has been postponed because of party politics.
