Design-build teams use BIM at $1B San Diego airport expansion

Two design build teams are at work on a $1 billion expansion at the San Diego International Airport green-build project -- and each is using building information modeling. The team of Turner Construction, Flatiron and PCL Constructors is at work on a $500 million contract for expansion of Terminal 2 and new taxiways and aprons, and a joint venture between Kiewit and Sundt Construction is tackling the heavy civil work.
