Excess weight gain from age 4 to adulthood increases diabetes risk

A study in Diabetes Care revealed an inverse association between birth weight and the risk of type 2 diabetes or impaired fasting glucose in adulthood. The researchers also found that higher-than-expected conditional weight gain from 48 months to adulthood might increase the risk of impaired fasting glucose and diabetes.
