This year's holiday movie crop reflects the longstanding landscape of gender stereotypes and lack of leading female actors that's been in place for decades, according to this blog post. As one media critic and female satirist points out, there needs to be a better balance of female and male in overall media representation and a rating system that denotes harmful gender bias as unacceptable and wrong.
