Ill. Senate passes bill for $3.5B clean-coal power plant

Tenaska's proposed $3.5 billion clean-coal power plant in Illinois won the support of the state Senate after legislation passed on a 30-28 vote. The 716-megawatt power plant would use emissions-reduction technologies as well as carbon-capture and -storage systems. The bill now goes to the Illinois House.
