Women are hard to find when it comes to literary honors

The literary awards landscape appears to be very similar to the big screen movie scenario with a lack of female authors on best book lists and a tiny number of female authors among the nominee ranks. Yet there are some bright spots to celebrate when it comes to gender equality in the writing world. Females represent 25% of the literary workplace while women account for just 17% of the Senate and less than 3% of Fortune 500 top executives.
