"Cosmeceutical" blurs the line between cosmetology and dermatology

Propelled by aging baby boomers, skin-care cosmeceuticals sales are expected to reach $6.4 billion this year, as doctors get into the business of offering patients products that not only treat skin problems but also act as an alternative to plastic surgery. A lack of dermatologists also is fueling the trend.
