Intelligent design appeals to many

Critics say the Dover, Pa., school board's recent decision to require the teaching of intelligent design in its biology curriculum is part of a push by conservative evangelical Christians to return religion to the schools. A nationwide Gallup poll last month, however, found that only 35% of respondents strongly believe Darwin's theory of evolution is supported by evidence.
