Execs: Consumer benefits could disarm biotech critics

Resistance to biotech crops could recede when consumers begin to see tangible benefits such as soy products enhanced with heart-healthy fatty acids, executives said at the Grocery Manufacturing Association's Conference on the Future of Food. Monsanto Chairman and CEO Hugh Grant said his company was working on such crops and added that environmental benefits also will increase the appeal of agricultural biotech.
