No more crying wolf over reputation risk

Security breaches have become so common that consumers are used to the idea that their personal and financial information is at risk. Recent ID theft problems at E*Trade Financial and TD Ameritrade received very little public attention, suggesting that "risk managers will need to rely more on the actual costs associated with data breaches, rather than play the reputation risk card."
