Pakistan to develop centralized blood transfusion system

The National AIDS Control Programme in Pakistan is working to develop a blood transfusion system that would ensure the safe collection, screening, storage and distribution of blood across the country to minimize the spread of HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. The group also plans to establish regional blood transfusion centers and to hold awareness campaigns about high-risk behaviors that contribute to the spread of HIV/AIDS.
