Pennsylvania teachers encourage reading during Book Blast

Teachers in the Mechanicsburg, Pa., area encouraged students to read more than 2,000 books in the district's first Book Blast that took place during National Young Readers week. A Shepherdstown Elementary School music teacher inspired students to read with a jingle to launch the weeklong effort, and teachers used any spare time to read aloud to students.
