Business leaders need to strike a balance between genuinely listening to and respecting their employees and not allowing any single dissenter to hold the team back, says Judith Jamison, artistic director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. "You have to recognize that in order for this plane to fly, I need co-pilots, I need engineers, I need passengers," she says. "[But] you have to dance unencumbered. There's no other way to move."
