CMS to assist state Medicaid agencies in developing health IT plans

State Medicaid agencies will receive letters and documentation templates from CMS to help them craft health IT policies, including incentive programs to promote the meaningful use of electronic health records. "This information is being requested in order that states can submit documentation to CMS for review and approval in order that states can implement the Medicaid program and draw down federal financial participation," the agency said in a notice.
