Corps rules Miss. waterfront development "not feasible"

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has ruled against a proposal for the "Two Lakes" waterfront development in Jackson, Miss., and instead favors a plan to raise levees to control flooding along the Pearl River. "The lake system is not feasible," said Kavanaugh Breazeale, spokesman for the Corps' Vicksburg district. "Our studies justify that the best plan, with the least impact to the environment, would be to raise and enhance the levee system."
