Educator creates program for students to learn from peers

A high-school teacher in Connecticut is receiving recognition for a program she developed to help students with special needs learn life skills from their peers who act as teachers. In Peg Kennedy's Art of Living class, students without disabilities spend the first half of each hourlong session developing lesson plans while students in special education work with another teacher. The second half is devoted to implementing the lessons.
