French court orders eBay to pay LVMH €1.7 million

A French court ruled that eBay made unauthorised sales of LVMH's perfumes. Pierre Gode, administrator for Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, said the payment was ordered after the online auction house violated a previous ruling that prohibited it from selling Kenzo, Guerlain, Givenchy and other LVMH brand perfumes. Alexander von Schirmeister, eBay's director in France, said the decision penalised consumers.
