Harrah's files application to buy Planet Hollywood

Harrah's Entertainment filed an application with the Nevada Gaming Control Board to acquire the Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas. "I feel this is a perfect marriage for our brand," said Planet Hollywood founder Robert Earl. "With Harrah's in the driving seat we'll be able to go from strength to strength." Planet Hollywood holds more than $850 million in debt in default, and Harrah's controls $140 million of that.
