On Michigan road trip, subcommittee asks for directions

The House Financial Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations made a trip to Michigan Monday to hear firsthand what bankers and small-business owners have to say about credit. Small manufacturers say the lack of credit, even for work already awarded to them, is keeping them from expanding beyond the ailing auto industry. Banking industry representatives repeated a common thread of thought, that only creditworthy borrowers should get loans.
