A New York City English professor writes that the ideal teacher is a myth, a cross between Bill Cosby, the Dalai Lama and a superhero. Bob Blaisdell writes that, the ideal teacher "inspires and never nags. Students do the classwork and homework not only because they love him but because, through his teaching, they come to love the subject."
