Survey: Many restaurants remain wary of social media

Half of the 1,300 restaurant owners and managers polled recently said they don't use social media to promote their businesses, according to a survey from menu template provider MustHaveMenus. While larger chains including McDonald's and Taco Bell have invested significantly in their social initiatives, many independents and smaller companies said they don't have the time to invest and don't believe they need Facebook, Twitter and other sites to attract customers.
