Ticks can trigger serious diseases in pets

Dogs and other pets are highly likely to be infected by ticks, with more than 800 species of ticks found worldwide. Ticks can cause diseases such as Rocky Mountain Fever and Lyme disease, and owners are advised to provide their pets with tick treatments and Lyme disease vaccines, among other measures.
