White House reverses a stance on offshore oil drilling

The Obama administration has reversed a proposal made in March to open the Atlantic coast and the eastern Gulf of Mexico to offshore oil drilling. U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar said oil exploration won't be allowed in the areas for at least seven years. He said exploration in the Arctic region will be considered "with utmost caution."
