Analysts: Truck rates to increase as shippers brace for possible rail strike:

With the possibility of a Dec. 6 rail labor strike looming, shippers could begin diverting freight from rail to trucks as early as Thursday, say industry analysts. The situation gives truckers the ability to raise rates as shippers try to avoid the possibility of having their freight stuck on the rails.
