Majority of U.S. school districts have students enrolled in distance learning

Roughly 55% of public-school districts in the U.S. report having students enrolled in some form of distance-learning courses, according to data from the National Center for Education Statistics. However, about 75% of respondents said the distance-learning programs in use were organized by outside groups, independent of the districts themselves, the NCES report found.
