New York's review of hydraulic fracturing for natural gas should ultimately rule in favor of drilling, writes former Gov. George Pataki. The economic and job benefits can be had while still protecting the environment, but only if the state acts, he argues. "While we must act prudently, we must also remember that no decision is a decision. Without swift action, this industry will simply bypass New York -- costing upstate jobs and investment," Pataki writes.
