NLRB advances rule for faster union elections; House votes to block it

The National Labor Relations Board voted Wednesday in favor of a rule that aims to shorten the wait period before employees can vote to unionize. Meanwhile, the House of Representatives passed the the Workforce Democracy and Fairness Act, which gives employers "at least 14 days to prepare their case to present before an NLRB election officer and an opportunity to raise additional concerns throughout the pre-election hearing."
