Report projects NFC displacing QR codes

Better security and, importantly, greater ease of use will help NFC-enabled marketing to soon eclipse QR codes in usage among consumers, a Yankee Group study concludes. Although QR codes have captured the imagination of many marketers, only a small percentage of mobile users are scanning them. NFC, however, requires no application downloads and only a tap to be activated, the Yankee Group report notes.
