Digital watches help Kan. students, teachers gauge fitness

A physical-education teacher at a Kansas high school is learning more about her students' fitness using digital watches that measure students' heart rates during physical activity. In the program, which launched with help from a Teacher Innovation Grant from the Lawrence Schools Foundation, students can use a quantitative assessment to keep track of their efforts during PE class.
