Mobile powers Black Friday's online traffic, sales

Black Friday went increasingly mobile this year, according to IBM's Digital Analytics Benchmark, which found that smartphones and tables accounted for 40% of the online traffic in the U.S. and 22% of all sales, each representing a significant jump when compared with numbers a year ago. Globally, PayPal said its mobile shopping rose by 91%, while Wal-Mart reported mobile made up 53% of its online traffic as the number of new wireless customers tripled. The National Retail Federation predicted a 22% increase in the use of mobile devices for today's "Cyber Monday" sales.
